ABOUT US
Erin O'Shaughnessy & Amy Vining
Erin O'Shaughnessy and Amy Vining are friends who were both raised in small towns of Oregon. They became friends about a decade ago when they lived next door to one another and became "workout buddies." Their friendship blossomed over drives to and from our Jazzercise class in Happy Valley, Oregon.
A couple of years into their friendship, Erin moved to California to put her theater degree to use as a Stage Manager at Disneyland, a childhood dream she would finally fulfill. Amy continued on in Portland with a successful career as a portrait and fashion photographer.
When Erin returned in 2017, it seemed only natural that they would find something creative to do together. Amy, now living in Vancouver, Washington and Erin in Happy Valley, Oregon were too far apart to make it to the same Jazzercise class anymore. ;( And during her travels to Guatemala, Amy became inspired by getting "out there" in the world, and possibly trying something new.
With a shared love of walking, hiking and just being outside in the sunshine, they decided to start this blog in the hopes of encouraging others to get outside and take advantage of all the outdoor beauty that the PNW has to offer, even during the rainiest seasons. Through this endeavor, they have both found fulfillment in getting out more, writing about their travels near and far; creating healthy recipes for hikers, and guiding people to the best places to GET OUTSIDE in Portland and Vancouver.
